This is a demo ad / web film made from an old spec script for Pot Noodle. It is just for showreel purposes and is unrelated to Pot Noodle the brand. A kind of homage to the low rent stuff they made back in the 90s to advertise the stuff.
Written and Directed by Simon O'Neill
Director of Photography Richie Donnelly
Edited by Eamonn Cleary
Starring Keith Singleton, Iseult Golden & Sharyn Hayden

The creative process revealed in all it's glory! This is a wee promo for my copywriter showreel. Shot on 16mm B&W film by Robbie Ryan. Edited by Colm Kirwan.
There's a short film in here somewhere, which was somewhat sabotaged by my terrible acting. Without any dialogue to screw up, I just about got by.
"He's a tough guy...
....Some say he killed a man.
He takes the dirty jobs nobody else wants....
He covers the Waterfront....
He's...
....The Copywriter."
I wrote this ad when I worked at mccannlondon.co.uk/ in Russell Square. It's not particularly big or clever but it's nicely directed by Peter Smillie and does feature the brilliant Charles Simon as Grandad. I always loved him in The Singing Detective, so I was delighted see him add a touch of class to this production.
Not the most innovative bit of branded content you'll see but a good excuse to show Jason McAteer's goal against Holland in the qualifiers for The World Cup, 2002.
